WA－7100具有如下优势：

1. 经济型WA－7100的波长精度亦是优于同业的好值 两倍（1ppm）。具有内置的HeNe激光器用于连续的波长校准。波长计精确度优于±0.02pm。基于Michelson 干涉仪原理，长达20多年的制造经验。自动的色散、温度和压力校正。

2. 波长及功率的测试可以上溯至NIST认证标准。EXFO公司采用K.Nakagawa等人提出的使用乙炔气体的吸收谱作为1.5mm频带的测量基准，这一工作已得到NIST认证成为波长测量的标准。

3. 高的光谱分辨率：高达30pm(4GHz)的光谱分辨率，不仅是现在DWDM系统(100GHz/50GHz)理想的测试工具，同时可以用于未来25GHzDWDM系统的测试。

4. 三种测试模式可同时进行：频谱模式、数据模式、监控模式。

5. 大彩色显示屏，图形界面用于显示光谱曲线，可以方便地对曲线进行详尽地分析。

6.快速的测试：1秒钟内完成所有项目的单次测量。

7. 设备接口齐全：除提供标准串、并口及显示、打印接口外，同时提供GPIB接口以及LabViewLabWindows应用。
